The Rock

We found this rock in the low tide this evening.

It makes you wonder about the story behind it.

I’m guessing that someone wrote all their negative feelings and attributes onto the rock.  To symbolically dissociate themselves from the negativity they hurled the rock into the ocean.  Not a bad exercise if you think about it.

I wonder if it worked.

Sounds like a jewish or other new year tradition — to burn, throw or blow the negative of the past year away. Cool.

…what a neat idea and how symbolic…i would love to take the negative things in my life, write them on a rock and throw them out to sea…can i throw the negative people too? LoL! xo,mickey

What does it say? I can read "fear" and "doubt," but not the last word. The psychologist is coming out in you, Jeannie, and it may work to have a rock be symbolic of "things" that one may want to dissociate or disassociate with, but I have never partook in this exercise before, so I have nothing to add. Nice observation, though . . .
